It's a rainy cold Saturday here and we headed out this morning to get our new used car. Our parking spot is around a tight bend and at the top of this hill (on the left by the fence).
She's a beauty - a green 1995 Honda Accord wagon with 133,250 km. We bought her for 3000 NZD from another young Canadian couple who are just ending a year here in NZ. It was fun meeting them and hearing about some of their adventures. We drove across town to a big grocery store to stock up for the next week. We are planning to leave tomorrow (Sunday) and take two days to drive up to the northern part of NZ. The forecast is calling for rain most of the week, but hopefully we'll get a few sunny breaks and clear night skies.

I cleaned our car today, there was about 6 inches of salty snow in the wheelwells....ahhh. jealous that you were on a beach the other day. we got stormstayed in listowel. benny was at 'home alone' in guelph. he decided to try baking....he got into a bag of flour and icing sugar...we coined him 'benny the baker'...what a guy. cheers!
ReplyDeleteI loved the details about the boxes at the airport. I was trying to imagine how you got all your gear to NZ. Your car is great, will take you on some exciting adventures. Maybe you can sell it to Canadians when you return to CA.
ReplyDeleteFirst day I am able to get my car out of the garage since 12/22/08, snowed in. Had to carpool to Bellingham for work! I'm off to get groceries and snow shoeing at Baker. Only very slightly envious of the beach on Christmas day.
